Hey all! I’m back from Catholic Summer Camp “Adventures with God”, and it was a blast! Sixteen kids went from Saint Ignatius and Immaculate Conception. I’m really proud of our kids, and they had a great time too. There were 16 kids from our parishes who went, including one high school-aged counselor.

The theme of camp was (I think I mentioned this in an earlier post) prayer. Four pillars: adoration, petition, contrition and thanksgiving. That is: praising God just because He’s God, asking God for what we need, telling God we’re sorry for our sins, and giving thanks for the good things in our lives. We even had music to go along with each one! Even in the “lessons” part of camp, the kids had a great time. Oh, and they got to see David (3’8″, 60 lbs) take out Goliath (6’2″, 210 lbs, though really he was taller and a LOT heavier) with a slingshot.

Campers got to play capture the flag, fish, swim, get launched off the Blob by yours truly, sing, dance on stage, and make their own t-shirt! Despite all the sand (which I’m STILL finding), the unruly few, and the bus not showing up at  the last minute (don’t worry, we got everyone a ride!), it was a great week!

And the bishop came! How cool is that? Bishop Sample of the Diocese of Marquette drove almost 3 hours to spend a few hours Wednesday afternoon with us and to close Adoration. He even let the kids pick on him and ask him any question they wanted!

Please pray or continue to pray for this wonderful ministry! It takes a lot of planning just for these four days, and I didn’t have nearly the bulk of it.

Ave Maria, Gratia Plena, Ora Pro Nobis!
